I started this bible study at the church and we are studying the book Captivating by John & Stasi Elderedge. It is really good. Last week I learned that Woman was the crown/ the final touch to God's great maserpeice. Some times as women we don't value oursevles but more so because we don't always feel valued. We want to be pursued and come #1 in our mans life and that doesn't always happen. This book is teaching how to discover that woman was also made in God's image and that God also has the desire's that we as women do - to be prusued and to be loved.
Here is some thing that we studied from the book in week one.
Unseen, Unsought and Uncertain
I know i am not alone in this nagging sence of failing to measure up, a feeling of not being good enough as a woman. Every woman I've ever met feels it - something deeper than just the sense of failing at what she daoes . An underlying, gut feeling of failing at who she is. I am not enough, and , I am too much at the same time.......

Week 2
She is the crescendo, the final astonishing work of God. Woman. In one last flourish creation comes to a finish not with Adam, but with Eve. She is the master's finishing touch.

Isn't this so cool? I love the oppertunity to dicover who I am and why God has truely created me. Some times as a stay at home mom you don't always feel worthy and pretty and so on. Alot of what you do goes unnoticed and some times unappreciated. It is a role that is extermaly down played in society today yet the most important job you will ever do! Nothing will ever compare to the job you do in raising the next generation. I count myself so forunate to be at home with my children. I just want to encourage any other moms wheather stay at home or you work you are a woman and some one loves you he is persuing your heart right now! Jesus loves you and what you do doesn't go unnoticed by him. He also desires to have you persue him with your whole heart. When you do, you will be captivated in his love and his heart, as he will be captivated in yours!!!

Peace for a Day

Wow can't believe it's almost been a month again. Life seems to take off running and doesn't know when to stop!
Keenen & Rees are back to school, now . Keenen just started Gr.3 and Rees in Kindergarten. Rees goes full days Mon & Wed & every other friday. When they are both gone my home is actually peaceful - I have time to spend with Grace & Desi.
I am currently triing to work at potty training Grace - the other day I said to her I think you laid a turd in you diaper. She covered her mouth then said GET OUT TURTLE!! I laughed so hard. As challanging as 2 can be it is still a fun age - the dicoveries they make about them sevles and the growth in their vocab is truely amazing.
It's kinda a fun having just the little two at home for a while. I just can't get over how quiet my home is especially right now because they are both asleep! With that said this needs to be a short blog cause I gotta take advantage of having an hour just to me! This is a habbit that absolutly drives me mental. And all boys do it.
My brother and sister-in-law ' pastors grandson was over visiting Canada from England. HE was holding himself, and was asked if he had to use the bathroom, he said yes. So he did. After returning outside he was still holding him self, when his gramma asked if he had used the bathroom he said yes. She then asked why he was still holding him self, he said that he liked to play with his (here's a new one) WINKY but only in Cananda!! We barbarrack Canandians have turned a prim and proper Brit into a winky wiggler! I love beinging Canadian eh?
My friend's little boy also has this habbit and when he was asked why he constantly does it, he responed that he likes to wiggle it because it feels good! Personally my boys are told to go to the bath room if they need to hold themselves because I just don't like it. The wrost is when you see a grwn man full out re adjust him self in plan view of your self. Yes, this has even happened to me and it's not my husband doing the adjusting.... ewehhhhhhhhhhh

Nite on the Town

SO last nite I got to go out for a little bit all by myself aka NO KIDS!!!!! It was my sister in laws stagette. We went to BP's and had dinner and then GLOW bowling and I had alot of fun. Before I went out Grace decided to get in to the shampoo (this is her 3rd offence with it in less than 2 weeks) at least this time it was in the tub with no water and not on my carpet. She poured 3/4 of a bottle in to the tub and was like skating around in it. As funny as it sounds it is rather frustrating because it is so wasteful. After arriving late for supper (with 4 kids I'm lucky to arrive any where on time no matter how hard I try) I decided to have and alcoholic beverage at this point in my day I NEEDED IT! I was very frazzeled, so I had a strawberry margarita and it was sooooooooooo good I even boston sized it! About 1/4 of my way in to it I decided that I needed water too cause it was already going to my head. Shows how often I drink. Anyways I didn't get drunk I paced myself and I only had 1 which is good. You can totally go out and have fun and only have a drink. Glow bowling was alot of fun even though i suck royally. We bowled like 2 games and I think my scores were in the 60's or 70's that is how much I suck. I really like to through gutter balls there my fav. Any ways just wanted to brag a little about my nite off. My bro's wedding is in 13 days coming up fast!

Scrambling with Life

Hey! Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be a scrambled egg? Not that I have alot of time to sit and think about it, it was just an analligy that came to me now. Life can get so busy that you woral around and around in a cup so to speak and you don't stop. We just run and run from the moment we get up in the morning til the time we actually put our heads on the pillow for sleep and what ever hour we manage to get to bed. Then there are those of us who still have to get up in the middle of the night for a baby or a pee or both. Yesterday I ran like crazy to Red Deer and back then to drop the boyz off at a B-day party and back then to pick them up and at home I hardly sat even though I was trying to scrap book I was up and down and swerlling all around. Any ways that's my egg story. Interesting hey?
Warning as you children get older the sibling rivalry gets a whole lot more physical - regardless if you tollerate it or not. Yesterday I had to break up a fight between all 3 of the older kids Rees was on Keeenen and Grace felt she could help by pulling Ress's hair for him. any ways TTFN

Guilty of not Blogging

Sorry to any one who has checked in resently and not found an update. We have been crazy busy you know one of me 4 of them! So what new? We travelled to BC for our summer holidays this past weekend and enoyed some nice HOT weather. Darren parents live in the south okanagan so we visited there as well as in Kelowna. I saw a few of my friends and for those who read this it was sure good to see you all. oUr 10 year high school reunion is coming up in August. Where the last 10 years have gone is beyond me I geuss I been to busy HAVING BABIES to notice.
So here is an embarsing thing I haven't blogged for so long that I had to reset my password because I could not remember my old one. don't worry I wrote it down this time!
So a family up date Keenen is on his way to grade 3 in September, he had a very good report card and Darren and I are proud of his progress in school thus far. Rees is going to kindergarden in Sept. He spent his first amount of signifigant time away from me after the trip to Disneyland I wasn't sure if he would want to go to BC with his grand parents a week before Darren & I went out. But he did and so did Keenen so I actually only had Grace and Desten for a week again. Although they are the most physically demanding kids the peace and quiet from no fighting between the sibs was was nice. Grace is op to her usual tricks of a 2 year old causing all kinds of trouble. She is in the process of potty training and when she poops say after a nap instead of calling me to change her she does it her self and then I get to clean up poo[ of the carpet on her roon totally not a good trade off - how ever she doesn't seem to get that if she would call me I would come and change her and then she wouldn't get in trouble for getting crap all over her room. so annoying. My favorate pass times includ cleaning up crap off my carpet DAILY - NOT!!! Today she suck one of the boys plastic hockey puckes in my oven and I went to turn my oven on for supper and instead of chicken we had melted plastic! I have to be on top of that girl every minute she is awake. Any ways the joys of 2! Desten is doing awesome he is rolling a bit and started solid foods today and boy is he ever ready. The arms and legs are a going and I'm sure he was saying just give me that spoon mom I can do it way faster. He has also graduated to bathing in the big tub and will be moving in to the crib some time this week. well i need to run I am tired and my morning will come all to soon take care to all my readers and I'll try to blog again soon!!!

Down to 2

The past five days have been wonderful for the most part. My 2 oldest kids were taken on a trip to Disneyland in California, USA by my in-laws! Thus leaving me behind with only half the amount of children and responsibility!!! It has been a real treat to be able to relax some even though the two I have are the most physically demanding two. My daughter, Grace turned 2 last week and we all know it. She is figuring out new things left and right some good some bad but all required to have some one on top of what she is doing at all times! She has mastered the open of doors (bad real bad) which is leading to a whole new era of what she can destroy in her tornado ways! I plan to invest into a few of those slippery door knob things to keep her OUT! Of trouble.
Desi
is almost able to roll over and he is getting so huge! I spoke with Keenen and Rees on the phone a couple days ago and they are of course having so much fun at Disney. They got to meet Mickey, Goofy and Pluto as well as some of the princesses which Keenen didn't seem overly impressed about. I'll know all about there trip tommorrow when they get home! any ways TTFN!

A Weekend of Interesting Events

This past weekend was one for the books alright! It all started on Saturday mornind at about 4:50 am was my oldest son Keenen came into my room in tears complaining about a really sore ear. I got up gave him some tylonal, telling him I would phone the doctor as soon as they open later in the morning ( I assumed we were dealing with an ear infection). While I was up I had a sever cramp in my right side and thought Iit was just a result of what I had ate the nite before and had gone to bed with a harsh stomach ache. So when the doctor's office opened I called and they said we could come in in 20mins so it was a mad dash to get every one dressed and into the van were we flew down to the office. (thank God we live in a small town and it isn't that far). We see the doc and sure enough Keenen has an ear infeaction and my pain had got worse so the doc sent me for a blood test. 4 kids in the lab for an hour was a test in it's self! Let's just say my nevers were a little fried!!! the results came back at the doc's office and my white blood cell count is up. Now he wants me to go to emergancy in Red Deer to consult with a surgeon. Lucky me ( my doc is thinking either appendix or gull bladder!) So I dash home pack some stuff up for the kids and call my parents to see if the kids can stay there while I go in to emergancy. I drive in drop the kids off and Dad takes me to the hospital. I sit for 3 hours of course before I see the surgeon (of course nothing is ever immidate when were talking hospitals!!!) then he can't decide if it's my appendix or gull bladder so I got to wait another 2 hours for an ultra sound on the gull bladder to see if there were any gull stones - which there weren't. So at 6:30pm I find out that I'm having surgery to remove my appendix( this is my second stomach surgery in less then 3 month - baby was born by c-section) So here I am with 4 kids at mom and dads one in which I am breast feeding (thank God he takes a bottle as well)and I have to be in the hospital overnite. So I go into surgery at 10pm and after all did have accute appendicites. So now I am home and on recovery AGAIN. Needing help with my kids because of course Darren is away through all this like usual. I am very thankful that I have my parents and that my mom isn't working right now because she's been able to stay with me and help!! Darren come home tonight and were right back were we were 3 months ago - except that it isn't quite as bad as the section. I not really sure what I need to learn through all this if there is a lesson for me or if it's just a searious of unfortunate events. I know that even in unfortunate events there is always a lesson to be learned! I let you know when I figure it out!

Wedding Bliss

As of today I have 2 months to get it together before my brother gets married! I am so excited for him and his girl but there is so much to do! I took care of the shower all ready that was on Sat. now down to business. I have to get the boys fitted for tuxes. Order a tux like shirt and vest for Darren(if this isn't suitable we have to shop). Figure out how to put Graces hair in rags because I know that she wont sit still for a curlling iron. Luckly her flower girl dress is taken care of we had the last fitting on Sat. Misty's mom is sewwing it for us. Plus she needs shoes of some sort! Then for Desi well he'll have to wait so I can see how big he is. And of course me last on the list. I need to drop a few hundred (okay not quite, but would like some) pounds, shop for me completely dress, shoes, purse and accesories. This will make for a very busy July. I was just going over my calender today to figure it all out! I think I strive on being busy! This is a fun busy because it's such a special occasion. I'm so excited for a wedding! That means getting together with family that we haven't seen in years! It'll be a fun time!

You can be a winner at the game of Life

So, I have discovered thatI can totally be a winner at the game of life as long as I don't leave my house! This last week as always has had it's challanges and it's moments. In fact there were so many that I can't even remember all of them (Quite frankly I can't even remember what I wore yesterday). On Thursday I took Rees swimming just him and mom! He has been needing that one on one time with me since the baby has arrived and doesn't get as much attention from me as he used to. he thing with him is that when he doesn't get it he then demands it in various annoying ways. Keenen got 100% on his spelling test this week (so we are doing some thing right around here!) Grace has accomplished various challanges of getting into mischief every time I turn aropund she's into some thing again. This past week she and her little friend Michael decided to unload the water cooler on to the floor when they push the blue button the water comes out. She has also filled numerious cups full and continues to fill if she is not carefully supervised! Desi well he doesn't do to much yet just sit and plays in the bouncy seat or in his play pen(he's safe in there).
Last night I hosted a pampered chef wedding shower for my brother and sister(to be). It was alot of fun and they were totally blessed with some new stuff for their kitchen. Our dish that was demoed for us was Mango Salsa Sundaes, they were fab!
Darren will return to work tommorrow night we are hopping, the spot were the rig was moved got rain and it's all mud. The shacks were all sinking into the ground so the guys have been off for a few days.
Well gotta run for now Darren is cooking supper tonight and he needs my help! 2 year old tantrum I get to Deal with!!! so TTFN!

Dagies life in a day

Gettin' to know us!
In my 1st entery I said that I have 4 kids! Keenen is 8 and in gr.2 (in a public school), Rees is 5 and will start kindergarden in Sept(YES!!!!), Grace is 23 months (got to love the "terrific" 2's) and lastly is Desten ( which everyone calls Dustin but it is Desten and now starting to be known as Desi or Des) is 2 months. My husband is Darren and he is older than me - we'll leave it at that. I like to razz him about the 6 year age gap (opps!). So life is definately busy around here. Darren is in the oil patch 3 weeks outa the month so I go it alone for the majority of the time. our adjusting to baby has been a challange and down right overwellming. We decided that bringing in a house keeper 1x a week would help relieve some of the stress of keeping up with life. I can manage to keep up with the spot cleaning on a daily basis but the scrubbing really good just aint happenin' here. I was asked if I could do when Darren comes home but thats only 1x a month. There is way too much pee on the toilet seat for 1 good scrub a month. I do have boys . Down the road I intend to hire some one to come in and install a ceramic tile back splash behind my toilets, that way pee will be way easier to clean up! So any way that is one less thing to worry about for now! Life will never be back to as we know it. It is always and forever changing. We are happy and healthy and don't have alot to complain about other than the day to day challanges of being a parent or in my case 3 weeks at a time 2 parents. Todays challenges for me were as follows: Get up and get ready for church to be out the door a 10 am, Rees wants to were jeans with holes in the knees to church(this is not his sunday best!), Grace wants to run around the house with her breakfast not sit a the table and Desi wants to nurse. Meanwhile Darren and Keenen had got up early to go golfing and have some one on one father son time so I get the rest to deal with. Darren and Keenen get home at 9:20 am , Keenen doesn't want to shower for church (too bad) and by this time everyone needs something, not to mention as we are running out the door Desi decides to poop and huge one! I felt like I was up to my elbows in it, and I am proud to say that I only ended up having to change his socks and diaper of course! We manage to keep it all together and enter our church at 10:07am only 7 mins late (this is better then last week!) So we get to church everyone to their various sunday schools and Desi decides to completely loose it. I didn't have time to make him a bottle and he does get a boob so what's the big deal? Who knows why he was so fussy, by this point I decided to pack it in at 11:45 and go home! We get home and I fix Desi a bottle & put him to bed for a nap. Grace is next for her nap and now I am here! Any ways that's it for today as Darren and I are headed out for a date tonight hopefully all will go well.

Just Gettin' Started

Today is my first entry on the blog. As you all know or will learn, I am a mom of 4 - 3 boys 8, 5 & 2months and 1 girl 23 months. Life to say in the least is so busy. Today we decided to shop for a patio set all 6 of us. BIG MISTAKE! It was so insane and of course the one we liked was temperarly out of stalk. Lucky us. So needless to say we made our treck back home with a tantruming almost 2 year old and a 5 year old who couldn't stop instigating the tantrum more. What a life.
